Red thyme – the strongest herb in our range
Red thyme oil is steam-distilled from the leaves of Thymus vulgaris from Spain. “Red” means the unrectified first oil, rich in thymol, which gives it a darker colour and a very strong, warm herbal scent.
Use it drop by drop in the diffuser, in blends with rosemary, lemon or juniper berry. The oil is corrosive, so open the bottle carefully and never apply it to the skin.

How to use
- Ultrasonic diffuser: 3–5 drops per 100 ml of water (roughly 10–15 drops for a 300–400 ml tank).
- Waterless nebuliser: pour the oil into the device’s 10 ml bottle and screw it on.
- Scent stones, wooden beads or ceramics: 2–3 drops, repeat as needed.
- Do not apply the oil to the skin and do not swallow it. Air the room from time to time during use. Keep tightly closed in a cool, dark place, out of reach of children and pets.

Is red thyme really a 100% natural essential oil?
Yes. The bottle contains only essential oil obtained from Thymus vulgaris (leaves, steam distillation), in line with the definition of an essential oil in ISO 9235. We add no carrier oils, alcohol, solvents or synthetic fragrances. Purity is confirmed by the supplier’s safety data sheet, certificate of analysis and IFRA certificate.
How many drops do I put in the diffuser?
For an ultrasonic diffuser, 3–5 drops per 100 ml of water is enough. Start with fewer and increase the dose as needed – essential oils are intense.
Can I apply the oil directly to my skin?
No. Essential oils are highly concentrated and can irritate the skin or trigger an allergic reaction. This product is intended for scenting rooms and is not a cosmetic product.
Why does this oil carry stricter warnings than the others?
It contains 50–100% thymol, which is corrosive to skin and eyes. It is perfectly suitable for a diffuser, but open the bottle carefully and store it locked up, out of reach of children.
Which oils does red thyme blend well with?
Red thyme pairs well with rosemary, juniper berry, grapefruit, eucalyptus and cedarwood. For a Mediterranean scent try 1 drop of thyme and 3 drops of grapefruit.
Is it suitable for a room with children and pets?
Keep the bottle out of reach of children and animals. Do not run a diffuser in a room where a baby is sleeping, and always give pets the option to move to a scent-free room. Cats are especially sensitive to essential oils.
Why does the bottle have a child-resistant cap?
The oil is classified as hazardous, so we bottle it in amber glass with a child-resistant cap and a tactile warning for the visually impaired.
