Juniper berry – a Balkan forest in a bottle

Juniper berry oil is steam-distilled from the ripe berries of common juniper, Juniperus communis, gathered in North Macedonia. Alpha- and beta-pinene dominate, giving a clean, woody and slightly spicy scent with the characteristic “gin” note.

In a diffuser it feels fresh and tidy – it goes beautifully with cedarwood, hemlock spruce and citrus oils. It is also one of the few oils that comes from our part of Europe.

How to use

Ultrasonic diffuser: 3–5 drops per 100 ml of water (roughly 10–15 drops for a 300–400 ml tank).
Waterless nebuliser: pour the oil into the device’s 10 ml bottle and screw it on.
Scent stones, wooden beads or ceramics: 2–3 drops, repeat as needed.
Do not apply the oil to the skin and do not swallow it. Air the room from time to time during use. Keep tightly closed in a cool, dark place, out of reach of children and pets.

Is juniper berry really a 100% natural essential oil?

Yes. The bottle contains only essential oil obtained from Juniperus communis (juniper berries, steam distillation), in line with the definition of an essential oil in ISO 9235. We add no carrier oils, alcohol, solvents or synthetic fragrances. Purity is confirmed by the supplier’s safety data sheet, certificate of analysis and IFRA certificate.

How many drops do I put in the diffuser?

For an ultrasonic diffuser, 3–5 drops per 100 ml of water is enough. Start with fewer and increase the dose as needed – essential oils are intense.

Can I apply the oil directly to my skin?

No. Essential oils are highly concentrated and can irritate the skin or trigger an allergic reaction. This product is intended for scenting rooms and is not a cosmetic product.

Where does the oil come from?

From North Macedonia, where juniper grows wild on sunny hillsides. The berries are picked by hand and distilled locally.

Which oils does juniper berry blend well with?

Juniper berry pairs well with Virginian cedarwood, hemlock spruce, grapefruit, bergamot and rosemary. For a clean woody scent try 3 drops of juniper berry and 2 drops of cedarwood.

Is it suitable for a room with children and pets?

Keep the bottle out of reach of children and animals. Do not run a diffuser in a room where a baby is sleeping, and always give pets the option to move to a scent-free room. Cats are especially sensitive to essential oils.

Why does the bottle have a child-resistant cap?

The oil is classified as hazardous, so we bottle it in amber glass with a child-resistant cap and a tactile warning for the visually impaired.
