How to choose a perfume for the season and the occasion

Choosing a perfume is not just a matter of personal taste, but also of understanding the seasons, the setting and the occasions in which you wear a fragrance. Just like clothes, perfumes work best when they match the conditions around you and your mood.
Why the season affects how a perfume is perceived
Temperature and humidity strongly influence how a perfume develops on the skin. In warm weather fragrance molecules are released faster, so heavy and sweet scents can feel too intense. In the colder months, on the other hand, it is the deep, warm compositions that show themselves in full.
Spring and summer – freshness and lightness
In the warmer part of the year the best choices are:
- citrus fragrances, which feel energetic and clean,
- fresh aquatic compositions, which give a sense of coolness and airiness,
- light fruity-floral fragrances, suitable for everyday wear.
Perfumes like these are ideal for work, leisure and outdoor activities, as they do not overwhelm the people around you and feel natural.
Autumn and winter – warmth and depth
When temperatures drop, these come into their own:
- woody-amber fragrances, which create a sense of elegance and stability,
- gourmand-amber compositions, with notes of vanilla, resins and spices,
- aromatic fougère fragrances, which keep a neat, self-assured character.
These fragrances last longer, are more pronounced and suit evening occasions, business meetings and colder days.
Perfume and occasion – why it matters
Not every perfume suits every situation. Indoors, at work or at formal events, it is advisable to choose more discreet, balanced fragrances that do not dominate the room. For evenings out, special events or personal moments, you can treat yourself to more pronounced and sensual compositions.
