The opening is green and slightly bitter. Gardenia feels creamy, while green notes add a fresh, stem-like accent. Nothing sweet in the first minutes — the fragrance opens reserved and a touch cool.

The heart is the core of the composition. Jasmine sambac is dense and full, while almond adds a silky, almost marzipan-like texture that softens it. It is this combination of flower and nut that makes the fragrance feel opulent rather than one-dimensional.

The base is what justifies the name. Tonka, liquorice root, precious wood, musk and patchouli build a dark, dense foundation. Liquorice root adds an anise-like bitterness that pulls the fragrance away from classic white florals. Crafted as an Extrait de Parfum, it lasts 8–14 hours on the skin.
