Frankincense – pure oil from Boswellia resin

Frankincense (olibanum) is steam-distilled from the resin of the Boswellia carterii tree from Somalia. This is a 100% pure essential oil – not a blend in a carrier oil – so the scent is richer, more resinous and longer-lasting.

In a diffuser it is the oil for calming down, meditation and the evening. In blends it bridges woody and floral oils: warm with mandarin, soft with lavender, deep and meditative with cedarwood or patchouli.

How to use

Ultrasonic diffuser: 3–5 drops per 100 ml of water (roughly 10–15 drops for a 300–400 ml tank).
Waterless nebuliser: pour the oil into the device’s 10 ml bottle and screw it on.
Scent stones, wooden beads or ceramics: 2–3 drops, repeat as needed.
Do not apply the oil to the skin and do not swallow it. Air the room from time to time during use. Keep tightly closed in a cool, dark place, out of reach of children and pets.

Is frankincense really a 100% natural essential oil?

Yes. The bottle contains only essential oil obtained from Boswellia carterii (resin, steam distillation), in line with the definition of an essential oil in ISO 9235. We add no carrier oils, alcohol, solvents or synthetic fragrances. Purity is confirmed by the supplier’s safety data sheet, certificate of analysis and IFRA certificate.

How many drops do I put in the diffuser?

For an ultrasonic diffuser, 3–5 drops per 100 ml of water is enough. Start with fewer and increase the dose as needed – essential oils are intense.

Can I apply the oil directly to my skin?

No. Essential oils are highly concentrated and can irritate the skin or trigger an allergic reaction. This product is intended for scenting rooms and is not a cosmetic product.

How does it differ from the frankincense 5% blend?

The blend contains 5% frankincense in grapeseed oil and is the affordable version for everyday use. This oil is 100% pure, with no carrier oil – the scent is denser and longer-lasting and you need fewer drops.

Which oils does frankincense blend well with?

Frankincense pairs well with sweet orange, mandarin, lavender, cedarwood, patchouli and ylang ylang. For a meditative scent try 2 drops of frankincense and 2 drops of cedarwood.

Is it suitable for a room with children and pets?

Keep the bottle out of reach of children and animals. Do not run a diffuser in a room where a baby is sleeping, and always give pets the option to move to a scent-free room. Cats are especially sensitive to essential oils.

Why does the bottle have a child-resistant cap?

The oil is classified as hazardous, so we bottle it in amber glass with a child-resistant cap and a tactile warning for the visually impaired.
