Clary sage \u2013 Proven\u00e7al softness<\/h2>\n

Clary sage oil is steam-distilled from the flowering tops and leaves of the Salvia sclarea plant from France. Linalyl acetate and linalool dominate \u2013 the same components as in lavender \u2013 so the scent is soft, slightly sweet and herbaceous, with a faint musky note.<\/p>\n

In a diffuser it is a lovely evening oil \u2013 on its own or with lavender, bergamot and geranium. It is milder than common sage and without its sharpness.<\/p>\n

How to use<\/h3>\n

  • Ultrasonic diffuser: 3\u20135 drops per 100 ml of water (roughly 10\u201315 drops for a 300\u2013400 ml tank).<\/li>\n
  • Waterless nebuliser: pour the oil into the device’s 10 ml bottle and screw it on.<\/li>\n
  • Scent stones, wooden beads or ceramics: 2\u20133 drops, repeat as needed.<\/li>\n
  • Do not apply the oil to the skin and do not swallow it. Air the room from time to time during use. Keep tightly closed in a cool, dark place, out of reach of children and pets.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Is clary sage really a 100% natural essential oil?<\/p>\n

    Yes. The bottle contains only essential oil obtained from Salvia sclarea (flowering tops and leaves, steam distillation), in line with the definition of an essential oil in ISO 9235. We add no carrier oils, alcohol, solvents or synthetic fragrances. Purity is confirmed by the supplier’s safety data sheet, certificate of analysis and IFRA certificate.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

    How many drops do I put in the diffuser?<\/p>\n

    For an ultrasonic diffuser, 3\u20135 drops per 100 ml of water is enough. Start with fewer and increase the dose as needed \u2013 essential oils are intense.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

    Can I apply the oil directly to my skin?<\/p>\n

    No. Clary sage (Salvia sclarea) has a softer, sweeter scent and a different composition from common sage (Salvia officinalis), which is less usual in aromatherapy.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
